Compost Facility: Pogo Organics, in cooperation with Acme Biomass Reduction operates a state-certified wood waste recycling facility located in Montgomery County Maryland. This site is one of two permitted sites in Montgomery County .

Our facility is located at 21601 New Hampshire Ave, Maryland. Pogo has been operating this facility since 1998 .We accept all clean landscape debris from a small pick up truck to large dump trucks. Pogo can also provide you with 30 and 40 yard dumpsters for delivery and pick up at your job site.

PROCESSING
Once the natural wood wastes have been dumped at their specified locations, processing begins. Care is taken throughout to ensure good compost management. Close attention is given to material mixing i.e. C:N ratio, moisture content, particle size, porosity, structure and pH. Once the proper mix of raw materials is determined, it is ground into smaller particle sizes and windrowed. Windrows are spaced far enough apart to allow access of fire fighting equipment. Daily temperatures checks and weekly percent oxygen readings are taken to monitor current pile conditions. Piles are turned at least monthly, when pile temperatures reach or exceed 140° F, and when the percent oxygen level falls
below 10%.

Monday thru Friday, 7:00am to 5:00pm, Saturday 8am-Noon, Closed on Sunday and Holidays. Closed the week between Christmas and New Years.
